The Girl Empowerment Mission - 2023 program was inaugurated today on 24th May 2023 at NTPC Barh in the gracious presence of ED(Barh), Shri Asit Dutta. CGM(Project), Shri Jayadev Parida, GM(O&M), Shri Deepak Ranjan Dehuri, GM(Operation) Shri Amitabh Bahumik and GM(Maintenance), Shri Sukhamoy Roy. On the occasion, President, Mandakini Ladies Club, Smt. Sarbari Dutta, was also present along with Smt. Mahashweta Roy, Vice President, Mandakini Ladies Club. The honourable guests from local Barh administration included the Circle Officer, Shri Jitendra Kumar, and BDO Barh Shri Navkanj Kumar and Block Education officer. School bags were distributed by Mandakini Ladies Club to the girls participating in this year’s GEM program as a welcome gift.

A total of 40 girls have been selected from 12 Panchayats surrounding NTPC Barh for this one month long residential program which aims for the overall development of these girls in curricular as well as extracurricular fields. The program is being organised at premises of Notre Dame Academy, Barh.
